Preschool News

During Jesus Time we talked about Jesus choosing his 12 helpers.  Jesus chose his disciples to follow Him and be His helpers on earth.  He wanted them to “be fishers of men.”  That meant that they were to tell others about Jesus.  He wants us to be “fishers of men” too.  He wants us to tell others about Jesus.

Pp PeeWee Penguin was our star of the week.  The penguins we made are sliding down piles of snow on our bulletin board.  We read a funny story about a groundhog and then made our own silly groundhogs.  With wonderful winter weather like this, we aren’t worried about the groundhog’s decision!  We had so much fun playing outside this week!

Thank you to the families that provided snacks this week.  The snack schedule is as follows:
Feb. 6-9            am – Cole Fundus
                        pm – Damion Cassidy
Feb. 13-17            am – Leigha Casselman
                        pm – Grayson Gentile
Feb. 20-24            am – Josie Spence
                        pm – Emily Neemeyer
Please note that you are to provide snack every day of your week.  We have 20 children in our morning class and 12 children in the afternoon class.  Special snack instructions are included with this note.

There are kindergarten open houses scheduled for February 16th from 3:30-5:30 and February 21st from 6:30-7:30pm.  If you are interested in our kindergarten and have any questions, please join the kindergarten teachers and Mr. Stortz on one of these days.  Children are invited to attend as well.

Registration for next year’s preschool is underway.  If you know anyone interested in preschool, please pass this information along.  As of today, the 5 day morning class is full but there are openings in all of the other classes.  A waiting list has been started for the morning class.

We will exchange valentines on Tuesday, February 14th.  Please send one valentine for each child in our class on or before that day.  We have 20 students in the morning class and 12 in the afternoon class.  Please do not write “to ______” on the outside of the valentine.  Just have your child write his/her name on the card in the “from ______” section.  Even though the children are becoming experts at reading each other’s names, it will take an extra long time to hand out valentines.   I encourage you to have your child write his/her own name on each card but allow plenty of time to take breaks or quit until the next day.

Speaking of valentines… please remember to avoid peanuts and other nuts if you include candy or a treat in the valentine.

Just a few reminders:
