PRESCHOOL MRS. RIEDEL Feb. 1, 2, 2012
Dear Parents,
This week the children learned about jellyfish. Unlike octopi that are very intelligent, jellyfish do not have a brain, nervous system, or a heart or blood. Yet, they flourish in oceans all over the world. Some jellyfish stings can be fatal for humans. Luckily those jellyfish live off the coast of Australia. The children also learned about number 5 and the Bible story was “The Little Girl who helped Naaman”. Bible words were, “Be kind to each other.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15.
The children were so cute with their teddy bears. They were so proud of each one and they enjoyed comparing them and finding out about their bears. Some had tails, some had beans inside of them, their noses were different, some wore ribbons, some wore clothes, some made music or prayed. All were different, but all were special. The children really enjoyed the teddy bear parade – especially when some of the kids in grades 5-8 came out of their rooms and applauded us. I would like to thank the parents that came and helped us decorate our boxes: Tabitha Paul, Katie Bowens, Heather Wheelen and her sister, Stephanie Hoff and Tracie Norris.
Preschool Registration for 2012 – 2013: The list of students that registered in January is outside the preschool door if you are interested in who will be in your child’s preschool class. If you haven’t registered, there are still openings, but classes are filling up. A waiting list has been started for the 5 day a.m. class.
Kindergarten for 2012 - 2013: Next Open Houses are Feb. 16 and 21.
Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on us. The children will be making some Valentine projects during school the next couple weeks. Please be thinking about a “mailbox” sized box for your child’s valentine exchange. The box should be brought to school on Feb. 13 or 14. These boxes should be shoe box size and should have a hole cut in the top for the children to insert their valentines. Please help your child to decorate this box for their valentine exchange. We would like to suggest that you plan to do this when you have enough time to enjoy your time with your child. This is not a contest to see who has the most artistic box, so please allow your child to help decide what goes on the box and let your child help decorate it. You might want to suggest to your child that they put something on the box that shows Jesus’ love for your family.
If you haven’t received your preschool calendar for February please contact the teachers.
