Welcome to Norfolk
Welcome to Christ Lutheran School

Whether you are moving to Norfolk with your job, continuing your education at the college, relocating closer to family, or looking for a new place to continue your child's education; we invite you to become a part of our school family here at Christ Lutheran.

Christ Lutheran School is a caring community starting with age 3 through the 8th grade. Each year we are blessed with new families calling CLS home. Some of these families are joining us part way through their child's educational process. Why do they choose CLS?

Our teachers care not only about the students, but their families as well. Our ministry minded staff provides a Christ centered environment where children learn to see themselves as having real value because of who they are in Christ.

This Christian environment makes it easy for new students to be welcomed into the classroom. We support the traditional family values that have been a part of school for 145 years.

As students move to a new school, there are often times differences of where a child is academically. During the 2nd full week of school (after a chance to get aclimated) students are tested to help in determining needs and strengths of each child. Christ Lutheran School has the resources to help all children be successful. We offer special education and Title 1 classes. Speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy are a few of the services that are available to students who qualify. For those who are in need of a more challenging course of study, students may qualify for advanced math classes.

Band, drama, and multiple sports program opportunities allow your child to use the talents with which God has blessed them. Our sports program allows all students who are eligible the chance to be on a team and participate.

The small average class sizes allows teachers and students the opportunity to truly know one another. Our average class size is 18 students. (Our overall student teacher ration is 15:1) Does that make a difference? You bet it does. Read the article by the New York Times to learn about the difference small class sizes and quality teachers will make for your child.
